How to Prescribe Sublingual Tirzepatide

Learn how to prescribe our new groundbreaking Sublingual Tirzepatide.

Sublingual Tirzepatide is an innovative treatment for type 2 diabetes and potentially for obesity, combining the actions of GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonists. It effectively regulates blood sugar by enhancing insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release, while also promoting weight loss by reducing appetite and slowing gastric emptying.

This dual mechanism offers a comprehensive approach to managing diabetes and obesity, making Tirzepatide a promising option for patients.

Step 1: Use the Order Form

To get started prescribing sublingual tirzepatide, download the Sublingual Tirzepatide Order Form and print it out.

Step 2: Fill in Patient Information

On the order form, fill in your patient information section, making sure that all of the information is up-to-date and a correct phone number so we can contact the patient about their treatment plan.

Step 3: Fill in Prescriber Information

After filling out the patient information, fill out your prescriber information in the section below it.

Step 4: Select Dose/Formula to Prescribe

For new patients, prescribe the Introductory Month Dosing. We are titrating the dose of tirzepatide quickly from 0.25ml to 0.5ml, then to 0.75ml, and finally to 1ml each week to ensure the medication reaches its therapeutic level more rapidly.

This progressive increase allows the body to adjust to the medication and helps achieve the desired treatment effects sooner. By doing so, we aim to maximize the efficacy of tirzepatide, providing patients with quicker and more noticeable improvements in their condition.

After the first month, you may either titrate up to 12.5mg QOD, or stay at 10mg QOD and see if that is effective for your patient(s).

Here is a simple treatment roadmap for you to follow for your patients:

As you can see, you begin by prescribing Introductory Month Dosing, and if not effective, increase dose to 1 mL QOD x 4w, and so on.

If there are no side effects and that dose is effective, continue with that strength and dose.

If there are side effects, stop treatment and re-evaluate.

Step 4: Fill out Pharmacy Name and Fax Number

Next, fill out the pharmacy name as Bayview Pharmacy, and the fax number as (401) 284-4506.

Step 5: Fax Order Form to 401-284-4506

Finally, fax the prescription order form to our pharmacy at (401) 284-4506 and we will contact the patient, go over the prescription as well as pricing and shipping/pick-up.

That's it! You've successfully Prescribed Sublingual Tirzepatide for your patient.
